Principal Welcome

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We at Sweeny Elementary have truly enjoyed welcoming your child back to campus! Hearing their stories from summer break and their enthusiasm for the new school year brings joy to our hearts.

As we settle into the school year, I wanted to send out a few reminders to help ensure a smooth transition:

• School Hours: Sweeny Elementary doors open at 7:30 AM, and class begins promptly at 8:00 AM. Please note that staff will not be available until the school doors open at 7:30 AM.
• Meals: All students at Sweeny Elementary will receive free meals this year. If your child would like to have breakfast at school, please drop them off by 7:50 AM to allow enough time for them to eat and be ready for class.
• Lunch Visits: Parents are welcome to join their students for lunch starting Monday, August 26, 2024. Please remember that you may only bring lunch for your own child, and parents can only sit with their students on the stage.
• Car-Rider Line: To keep our car-rider lines moving efficiently and ensure student safety, Sweeny Elementary staff will not remove students from vehicles. Our staff will open the car door for students to exit, but if your child requires assistance getting out, please park in a designated unloading zone or parking space.

We thank our wonderful Sweeny Parent and Guardian community for helping us kick off a fantastic 2024-2025 school year. With your continued support, we can create a friendly, safe, and nurturing environment for our children to learn and grow.
